FRASER McCONNELL #35
TEAM: Olsbergs MSE
DATE OF BIRTH: September 9, 1998
HOMETOWN: Bog Walk, St. Catherine, Jamaica
VEHICLE: Ford Fiesta MK8

McConnell is perhaps the big surprise for many in Nitro Rallycross, but not to those who have watched his career progress. Started his RX career with a spectacular but not always quick, sideways style but has relentlessly worked on every aspect from driving to fitness to psychology, and the results have proved this approach to be worthwhile. Just missed a podium in 2021 Utah, and very much disagreed with the stewards when they disallowed a great but forceful pass in qualifying at 2021 ERX. A podium is surely only a matter of time.

After discovering rallycross in 2017 on YouTube, Fraser debuted in Supercars in the 2020 RallyX Nordic Championship and finished 2nd in the 2021 RallyX Nordics bid. He also won the ARX2 title in 2019 after debuting in 2018.

TEAM BIO: Swedish outfit Olsbergs MSE (OMSE) designs, builds and operates competition cars for motorsport. The organization is the second most winning in the USA, having fielded the Global Rallycross driver’s champion in 2011-2014 (VW Andretti Rallycross earned all of the rest) and 20 X Games medals (including podium sweeps in Los Angeles, 2011 (Brian Deegan, Tanner Foust, Marcus Gronholm); Brazil 2013 (Scott Speed, Topi Heikkinen, Patrik Sandell).

Notable drivers who have competed on the OMSE roster include Ken Block, Tanner Foust, Brian Deegan, Scott Speed, two-time World Rally Champion Marcus Grönholm, Indy 500 Champion Kenny Brack.
The team is committed to driver development and designed and launched a feeder series for the sport with Rallycross Lites in 2013. Versions of these cars have now raced in every major series in the world as “Lites” or “RX2” (or similar) and will race as NRX NEXT here in Utah
